Malaysian Studies is a compulsory subject for all Malaysia higher education students. As the subject name states, the whole module is to let students know or recognize Malaysia. Besides the history of Malaysia, this subject also introduce the political process in Malaysia, administrative mechanism and government policies of Malaysia to the students. The objective of this module is understanding among students about their role in nation building and to instill in them the spirit of patriotism when facing with challenges in the nation’s development.
The assessment of Malaysian Studies is divided into weekly online assignments, group assignment and final exam. Thought this subject, student will able to explain the history of the nation, discuss the progress of the nation from socio-cultural, political and economic aspects, reflect upon the contributions from various individuals involved in defending the nation’s sovereignty and freedom, analyze the function and contributions of Malaysia at the international level and inculcate patriotic values among Malaysians.
Furthermore, students will also be able to practice the Taylor's Graduate Capabilities which are Discipline-specific knowledge, Lifelong Learning, Digital Literacy and Citizenship and Global Perspectives.
